Victoria Falls, Livingstone

4.7
Set your gaze upon Victoria Falls, the largest falls in the world. The waterfall is named in honor of Queen Victoria of Britain by a Scottish missionary, who perceived his discovery only as an obstacle to his preaching of Christianity to the whole of the African continent. Also called Mosi-oa-Tunya, "the smoke that thunders," by the local people, the falls extend 1,708 m (5,604 ft) across and 108 m (354 ft) in height. See the columns of spray from miles away plunging to the gorge below. To reach the falls you have to trek a road through the forest, so wear appropriate shoes. • One of the 7 natural wonders.. I had an amazing time with my girlfriend there. The place was great though the water levels were a bit low than usual. The best experience is when there is so much water and you could see the thunderous smoke right from a farther distance. I love the vegetation and the waters are just so wonderful. Speak of the boiling point, the island past the knife edge bridge and the Knife edge bridge itself ... Best spots ever. The bottom is fascinating too and so is the rafting
  • Beautiful natural African wonder and so peaceful, despite the waters being practically all dried up at this time. Try to go at the right time of year - after the rains, so that so you can really hear the 'smoke that thunders'
  • It was amazing I rode elephants the food was delicious the waterfall was beautiful and the hotel room was clean and the beds were soft. I recommend a week visit
  • Felt really grateful to have had the opportunity to visit this wonderland. Amazing views all over the falls, and you can see two main parts, the wet and the dry ones. As it is winter now, there’s less water. But, 100% worth the visit. Be careful not to get too close to the edge! Every year there are incidents and people fell as the security fences are not “secure” themselves.
  • One of the greatest awe inspiring creation on earth. A must do on a bucket list, especially full moon.
