Landmark
Learn about the Battle of Long Tan from the Vietnam War by visiting Long Tan Cross. The confrontation happened between the 6 Royal Australian Regiment and Vietnamese communist troops. Visit the site that commemorates the Australian victory and its loss at the same time. Listen to the stories and the memories surrounding the memorial, and leave some flowers to pay respects to the fallen soldiers. Consider hiring a guide, since it can be tricky to find the site. Most importantly, you must notify the Dat Do District People’s Committee in writing by fax three days ahead of your visit, either yourself or through a travel agent. Put Long Tan Cross and other Vung Tau attractions into our Vung Tau tourist route planner, and watch your holiday take shape.

  • It's the second important historical memorial about the wars in Vietnam, next to Dien Bien Phu. Many stories about the Australian Army force during Vietnam War were told here. Sometimes the visitors get the trouble with government people, but don't let this barries you plan to visit.
