Hon Ba Island, Vung Tau

(3.5/5 based on 50+ reviews on the web)
One of the smallest Vietnamese islands, Hon Ba Island represents a quaint place to visit and see the local way of life and the old buildings, as well as the clean beach. Take a walk around the small village, and you’ll see a couple of charming Buddhist temples, which you can visit and enjoy the atmosphere, the colors, and the traditional architecture. One of those was built in 18th century, and it’s dedicated to a goddess protector of fishermen and sailors. • I spent 3 full days in Vung Tau, travelling around on a rented push bike.....a great way to see this coastal city. One place I visited was Hon Ba Island. Well I was not able to walk over to the island...  more »
  • It was high tide when we were there so not possible to get on the island. Looked interesting enough though. Kind of reminded me of the Battery Point Light house in Crescent City, California. Same idea...  more »
  • Located right on the corner of front/back beach. Time your walk out carefully or you'll be stranded when the tide comes in. Wear a robust pair of footwear.
