Follow a bright white line of a narrow winding road cut into the mountains at Tram Ton Pass, the highest mountain pass in Vietnam. Enjoy a view of bamboo forests, terraced fields, blue-green valleys at this long passageway between outpost towns of Sapa and Lai Chau, dubbed the Gate of Heaven. Standing at 1,900 m (6,233 ft), this pass offers spectacular panoramas with often stark differences in weather, fog and sun, cold and warm air. Visit traditional villages with different ethnic groups, and check out some scenic waterfalls. There are numerous observation decks along the road.   • It takes almost 2 hours driving on a scouter to reach the highest pass in the area, it's nearly 2000 meters above the sea level, and the view is just amazing. We'd think it's properly not good to visi...  more »
  • A short drive from Sapa town. breathtaking views of the valley. In the same direction as Love waterfall and silver waterfall so work that in together as a package.  more »
  • Driving through the winding and narrow Tram Ton Pass rewarded us with amazing views of the mountains, valleys and terraced rice fields. Absolutely awe inspiring.  more »

  • Nice views, especially Love waterfall.
  • The fare on the port 70 k per person. Walk to the falls about 1 km, the most tired at going back out to climb many stairs. Quite tiring for those of average fitness.
