Holy Rosary Church Or the Stone Church, Sapa

(3.3/5 based on 150+ reviews on the web)
See stone walls, and the bell tower of Holy Rosary Church Or the Stone Church, a Catholic church built in 1902. French built the church in early 20th century, as they retreated to the town. Because of that, the church stands in the heart of the town, at the place meaningful spiritually to Catholics. For building it, they used lime, molasses, and sand. When you stand in front, you’ll see brilliantly designed bell tower, with a big cross. Inside, you can see glass windows with images of Christ’s life. • Didn't actually get to go inside, but its a really nice building just to observe from outside. Just near the square in town, looks fantastic with the backdrop of the mountains.
  • Worth a passing look if you manage to find someone to open the doors, the main church in Sapa is worth a mention in a town sorely lacking noteworthy landmarks. On the main square, so unavoidable when ...  more »
  • Nice view to take some pictures. This church is in the middle of town. Easy to find. View is not cleared if there are smog (in January). It's like you walk in movie "Silence hill" (LOL).
