  • Follower of the mountain course (I live meeting), I wouldn't have missed for the world this spot. Even the fog or rain, visiting the uninteresting for a non-sportif, have not discouraged me. He had to find a taxi in Sapa before dawn (15 kms, 250,000 dong) to arrive early at the beginning of the path, before forest guard who deliver authorization and impose a guide I think. In fact, I wanted to do it alone, and at a good pace (i.e. current). We're going to 2,000 m. The beginning is rather rolling. J was surprised by the beauty and quality of the trail, the level of what we find in Mafate. At 2,600 m, miracle! I'm going above the clouds. The 2nd part of the climb is harder: not bad for stairs, ladders. I finished a 3.143 m under a perfect blue sky! Even if at the top, it's back to the harsh reality: (cable car, cable car station and dozens of Vietnamese tourists, giant Buddha and other false monasteries under construction) but my pleasure is not ruined. I relish Stats: 18.3 km ROUND-TRIP. + D / D - 1,650 m rise 2 h 10. Lunch 30 min. descent 1 h 40. (Visible path on STRAVA)

  • The entrance to the mountain is well hidden in the middle of the city and simply not so worth it.

  • Can't express my feeling when I reached the top of the mountain after 2 days trekking with my friends. Wonderful view, cold and fresh air. Highly recommend if you want to be a risktaker and challenge yourself.
  • I was lucky, by far travel and hiking to this mountain before cable car was built. Chilling night with hail, morning with full of clouds astonish and amazing.
  • Amazing view with clouds beneath us. Buddhist temple in the midst of construction but nothing short of breathtaking sceneries of mountains and lushes of greeneries!
  • It is all a big show for Chinese tourists who push you around at the summit to get their billion selfies. They don't care about anyone else, disrespectful and disgusting behaviour. If you don't get your eyes poked out by a selfie stick and you are maybe able to get there between 8-9am you probably have a nice and quiet experience! Otherwise..don't be bothered
  • The feeling of standing on summit watching the sea of clouds is wonderful. Although many say that the construction of the cable car causes damage to the wildness and disruption of the Fansipan mountain ecosystem, many people can see the Roof of Indochina for the first time. The cable route goes across the magnificent valley of rice terraces. Nice time to visit is from noon to sunset in summer. At noon, there's not many visitors, can see the clear blue sky. In the afternoon can watch the beautiful sunset on the mountain. The morning is often foggy. At the top of the mountain, the temperature is often very low and humidity is high, so warm clothing is required.
