  • In contrast to Bac Ha market which is the biggest, liveliest, most colorful but also the more touristy, Coc Ly is a small mountain market. We meet flower Hmong, of the DAoC, the Nungs and the Tays. In the Stockyards area is bustling and the food stalls are Dantesque. After our tour of the market, we went down the river Chay in 'canoe' (45 minutes) from Coc Ly bridge to the village of Nam Khap Ban Tang.

  • Coc Ly market reveals a part of life in this area of Sapa. To the market not only will buy and sell the H'mong, Dzao, Phu, LaChi, Tay... among other tribes, going to cut his hair, find couple, transportation, eating and drinking in the company to not be able to complete. You should go early, 10 am at the latest, without any hurry. All accept photographs and we come to drink with them, liquor from corn that drink i to which invite us without problems, it is very strong.

  • While the Buffalo market is picturesque, enclosure is riddled with jobs of food, clothes and other belongings, in a manner similar to many other markets in Viet Nam. Therefore, while it is picturesque and always be one mixed with the more native landscape, I do not consider it especially recommended.

  • A fantastic and colourful market, located in the nordwest of Vietnam. Its a minority peoples market, where every tuesday the triebes from the surrounding villages come to buy and sell goods an meet friends. It's about 25Km from the village Bac Ha. I have met many Flower Hamong people. The way they look like and the gorgeous traditional dresses they wear, are just amazing. It was definitely an incredible experience to meet these wonderful an unique hill tribe people.
  • A rural market that includes a water buffalo auction. Sadly, some of the market stalls are now selling touristy Chinese imports that are not authentic and spoil the atmosphere. Took a minivan to the market and back from Sappa. Booked with Sappa Sisters, an agency run only by local women who speak fluent English, would definitely recommend.
  • Great Coc Ly market. Nice boating
  • Many markets and foreign guests than ethnic, not retain colour characteristic of the market North of the border. However, the cup of the cups is still a reasonable choice for a mountain region markets

  • Small local market with the possibility to buy anything and everything. It is a meeting place for all ethnicities of the mountains. Rich colors. Open-air bars, restaurants to try dishes typical

Where to stay in Sapa

As the primary city to look for accommodations in the northwest, Sapa possesses a wealth of choices to suit a range of tastes and budgets. The main urban area offers a large number of standard hotels, hostels, and guesthouses, with views of the surrounding hills among the biggest brags in town. Some luxury options lie within the confines of the town, offering spa facilities and onsite restaurants. Out among the rice terraces lie a number of pristine resorts and the odd eco-friendly lodge or rental villa.
