Vung Bau Beach, Phu Quoc Island
(2.5/5 based on 75+ reviews on the web)
Unwind at Vung Bau Beach, an isolated long curving stretch of sand in front of a jungle. Secluded, peaceful and 4.5 km (2.8 mi) long, you can find a good spot for skinny dipping. During a walk you can see starfish and conchs and some sea urchins. Paddle a boat, snorkel or scuba dive all of which you can rent from shacks. There is also a beach restaurant providing food and drinks. When sea is calm, this makes a good spot for family visits as the beach gently slopes into the blue sea with long shallows. The foliage is a mix of tall grass, flowers and shrubs and a combination of poplar and coconut palm trees. • The beach is very difficult to access, the road is very bumpy. Arrival at the beach there is little world and the setting is paradise. But it is ruined by a bunch of trash along the beach and the jellyfish that prevent swimming.

  • If it wasn't for the unsightly and noisy dock for offloading barges, this would be a great place. The water is warm, the litter is limited (in the water -- there's none on the beach), and the sea is c...  more »
  • Yet again another beach with lots of potential ruined by litter and rubbish everywhere such a shame as this has real potential .
