Ho Quoc Temple, Phu Quoc Island

Along a coastal road road lies this very quiet pagoda. I visited with my 1 year old. An old monk looked after her while I went round the pagoda. When I returned she was munching on fruit in the shade outside his quarters under his watchful eye. The pagoda sits on a hillside overlooking the ocean. If you look there is a small beach where you can spend a couple of hours. This pristine temple, built on an epic scale, is buried in jungle. It's peaceful, and very hot. But you pay nothing. Take liquid and a picnic, stay there for an afternoon and gaze over the Gulf of Thailand.

This place suits those who are in their Buddhist tour. If you are not in this type, this place is quite boring. The size is large and it has good view. However, there are not many trees so it is a little bit hot. Car parking is a little bit far from the gate, so you have to walk about 9 minutes to the car parking. The way to pagoda is ok, but quite small. 2 cars might find it a little bit hard to cross at the same time. The corner is not that much dangerous, but anyway you have to be careful.

Pretty scenic in that it's on the water, but already littered with trash. Benches inside the Pagoda labeled with bank logos. Only built in the last decade, so don't go here thinking of it as any kind of historic site. It's just a nice spot for a few photos.

Lovely modern temple with an amazing view. The coastal road leading up to it is very nice. The temple in itself is a bit quirky, but there is a very surreal mood when it’s not filled with tourists.

The pagoda locates on a hillside overlooking the ocean. On the way to get there If you find a small road to get down the beach, you can take nice photos. The pogoda’s atmosphere is peaceful, and quite hot.
