Fairy Stream (Suoi Tien), Phan Thiet

3.4
#1 of 13 in Parks in Phan Thiet
Streaks of red and white sand dunes fall across orange limestone cliffs into the water of Fairy Stream (Suoi Tien), offering a fabulous spectacle at Mui Ne Beach, some 18 km (11.2 mi) from Phan Tiet. Set against clear blue skies, the hill above the stream lined with cocoa palm trees provides magical scenery well deserving of its name. Dip your feet in the red-colored sand, but beware of sharp rocks underneath. Alternatively, you can climb to the top of the cliff to observe the panorama. Providing great photo opportunities, the visit makes a nice walking detour from the beach, and can also be accessed by jeep. If you continue, you'll find a waterfall at the end of the creek, and you'll probably meet some cows along the way. • I had looked forward to visiting the fairy stream but was a little disappointed. You go down the steps to the stream next to a bridge and people have thrown trash out from the road. You walk a few hun...  more »
  • The description of the excursion sounds promising and romantic! You can also shoot one or the other beautiful picture but is just a little trickle crowded with visitors! Conclusion you can do it but not!

  • Such an interesting place. Was a very enjoyable barefoot walk in the stream. Mud was super soft to touch and there was no rubbish etc in the stream. There are deep holes though that are like quicksand and as water is opaque it's kinda scary (but fun at the same time!). I almost fell over 3 times and there were ppl who fell in.
  • Short trail hike with a cool stream water down your feet. Sweet street vendors and 2 restaurants selling a bunch of food. Cool places to stop and take pics. Overall fun experience for family and friends. Definitely bring water proof everything. Small children can go as well. Don't expect a long trail maybe 30-45 mins total there and back. Lil waterfall at the end makes it worth it!
  • Nice views and a beautiful waterfall at the end. If you go left before the waterfall you end up at a little restaurant where you can eat/drink something or just relax in one of the hammocks before going back. The entrance fee to the fairy stream is 15.000vnd which is not even $1. Try to go early in the morning because it gets pretty busy in the afternoon. The entire trip takes about 1 hour if you take some breaks to make a picture. You will get wet to around your knees.
  • Very cheap entrance fee. Beautiful and peaceful. Vendors along the way if you're hungry. Just be careful of rocks and sudden dips in the ground. Keep walking at least a kilometre until you reach the stunning red cliffs for photos. After that, there isn't much else to see.
  • There's something so relaxing about stepping along this shallow stream till you reach the little waterfall at the end. Niagara Falls it isn't, but you can stand under the little cascade of water and enjoy. The scenery of red sand dunes as you get there is fantastic. The only fly in the ointment was the the sight of three sad and miserable ostriches who we were encouraged to film and ride. No thanks!
