Tam Coc, Ninh Binh

3.9
Explore an astonishing natural setting of limestone caves and karst rock formations at Tam Coc. The geologic compound was created by the erosive powers of the Ngo Dong River, which many villagers use to irrigate their crops. Go on a sampan tour on the scenic river to photograph the surrounding natural marvels and get acquainted with the local way of life. Besides passing next to strangely shaped caves and vegetation-covered rock formations, you can also visit nearby pagodas and monuments. Before you visit Ninh Binh, use our trip planner to discover what you can do and see there.

  • This village is one of the most beautiful visited in Vietnam. Often referred to as the inland equivalent to Ha Long Bay, however, in my opinion is more beautiful. If you are interested in photography ...  more »
  • Beautiful to see, at certain times, places or is a French motorway a 15 August, and the only purpose is actually to 'spit' the tourist, photos, drinks, cookies, the rower who claims his tip by asking a sum accurate... it spoils frankly the visit. Too bad because in good conditions is an unforgettable place

  • Good accommodation, excellent service. Pitty that the pool ready was for use. To early inter season
  • WORST HOTEL EVER. This place has the most disgusting service, the most rude and disgracefully behaved receptionist I’ve ever met. She treated myself, my partner and our friends awfully. I don’t actually know how she has a job. Nothing would make her leave her desk, we were not helped with anything, and every comment she begrudgingly made was rude and condescending. Everything from the service, bed, motorbike rental was horrible. This has been the worst stay ever in my life, no exagerations. I don’t know why we paid to be treated so badly, but for anyone else considering booking - DONT!!!
  • Unique location at the Foothills...Nuang and other friendly staff are very accommodating
  • 1. The view is nice but that's all.. I arrived with the bus in Ninh Binh and took a taxi with another group to their homestay first. We agreed there on paying everything, also for my ride back to Tam Coc Homestay. Once I was there the taxi driver told me I had to pay again. I got angry,, (and afraid being in the middle of nowhere in the dark) but he knew the Tam Coc Homestay employee, they were talking some in Vietnamese and I had to pay another 180.000 VND instead of 200.000. 2. They have a pool but we couldn´t use it. 3. The food was TERRIBLE!!! See picture; there was a dead fly in my food and I got a huge bellyache from it! I had to walk through the kitchen to get my laundry and I was SHOCKED. Food was lying in the open with hundreds of flies on it. Don´t eat there!! Go to Father Cooking in the city, thatś a lot better. 4. Beds are way too hard, I booked the private room and lay on a spiral bed. 5. Only other positive thing was they helped immediately when I had only cold water in the shower. The guy fixed it within 5 minutes.
  • The place is beautiful, located just under tbe outcrops, peaceful amd remote. Helpful with bookings and advice. The food really needs a loving hand though.
