Hoa Lu temples of the Dinh & Le Dynasties, Ninh Binh

2.1
#8 of 17 in Things to do in Ninh Binh
Two of the last remaining structures from the 10th-century capital, Hoa Lu temples of the Dinh & Le Dynasties invite you to uncover this ancient era of Vietnamese history. Home to the country’s first two imperial dynasties, the temples were built in honor of the Dinh and Early Le families. Built some 600 hundred years after the demise of the citadel, the restored grounds feature paths that wander in the shadow of looming limestone mountains, then lead up 200 steps to the temples’ entrances. Located 300 m (984.2 ft) apart, each temple hosts its own altar in memory of the Le and Dinh emperors, housed in typical 17th-century Vietnamese wooden architecture. Consider hiring a guide to take you around the site, as you won't find signage in English. Put Hoa Lu temples of the Dinh & Le Dynasties and other Ninh Binh attractions into our Ninh Binh trip itinerary planner, and watch your holiday take shape.

Not very big, not big thing to see, little information. Not especially pretty we recommend it only if it's on your way. Nevertheless our view may be corrupted by our visit to the Temple of literature in Hanoi which is exactly the same thing. If you went out there, don't go to Hoa Lu

Half a day is usually enough to visit the temples of the dynasties Dinh Tien Hoang and Le Dai Hanh, as well as taking a rush to visit the caves of Tam COC. Temples in itself no surprise, but the environment in which is beautiful. Junco ride is highly recommended, although it is not Halong seems to you. Globally, it is an interesting excursion to get away a bit of the bustle of Hanoi.

Hoa Lu temple is on the road for Halong Bay land, you turn and pass a large bridge - and we can spend it on 2 wheels (not before Park & listen to people who offer free parking in front of their store!) And then you can walk in the 2 temples, however to enter it is 20,000 VND for the 2. Temples are beautiful, small, you can park on 2 wheels in front of the temples (or next to the purchase of the ticket office, the desk person suggested us to monitor our bikes). Historically speaking it is rich and interesting, this is done quickly, for 20,000 VND worth not the of den deprive!

Where to stay in Ninh Binh

A hub for travel throughout the province, Ninh Binh features a decent number of accommodations for a town of its size. Take a look close to the main train station for the town's most-frequented hotels. Standing in a cluster in this central area, they represent convenient options, given their proximity to the main restaurants, shops, and services. Over to the west of town, a selection of homestays provide interesting options among the karst landscape of Ninh Binh, with some refined, and others a little more budget-friendly.
