Bich Dong Pagoda stands out with its unusual formation--each of the three pagodas rest on three different levels of the mountain. Climb the steep stairs, wind through the caves, and see rice fields on the way up. The path abounds with vistas of pointed green mountains, mist, and rivers. The pagodas have different designs--the low pagoda boasts five departments, while half of the middle one is carved into the mountain. A green pond encloses the top pagoda, creating a serene and picturesque ambiance. Enter the gloomy interiors displaying altars, Buddhist statues, and smelling strongly of incense. Consider bringing a flashlight to better explore the caves. Make your Ninh Binh itinerary with Inspirock to find out what to see and where to go.

We liked this place a lot! Arrived around 16:30 and paid 40k to park our 3 bikes. With only a few people on site, it was very nice and quiet. We went through all the hidden passages and the cave and the kids were really excited to explore the area. Been there for about an hour or an hour and a half with a very slow moving pace.

Beautiful and enormous place. You can spend a whole afternoon here just exploring and walking around. You can get a tour guide for extra fee but we’ve just done it ourselves. Definitely recommend!

One of the must visit place in Ninh Binh. Largest Buddhist temple complex with many temples and towers. You can easily spend 2-3 hours. Take Electric car as all the places are located in distance. Tour guide recommended to understand the history and architecture

Amazing pagoda that is far bigger then you think. Park your bike for either 10,000 per Push bike or 15,000 for scooter and walk in. There is no entry fee. Keep following the steps up and up and you will find a cave with many bats in and really close so they are easy to see. Bring a torch. There are signs saying cover up and dress respectibly but the locals were not bothered that we had our shoulders and knees out. We just didn't go in the actual pagoda out of respect.

We enjoyed visiting the temples and going through the cave with the bats. The temple is free and so is parking. Don’t be persuaded by the locals trying to convince you to park in the area to the right of the temple. The guy was even wearing clothes that resembled a uniform. At first I wasn’t sure if he was right, but when I asked how much parking was and he simply kept motioning for us to park there without saying anything, I became suspicious. We parked our motorbike right outside the bridge leading to the temple where we saw some other bikes parked. Once you get past all the scam attempts, the area is quite nice to explore. As others have said, don’t miss out on checking out the area to the right of the temple. Take the path outside the temple area that leads you on a short hike where you see nice views of the area and the river as well. We even saw goats standing on cliffs! You just have to walk through the “parking” area which was a bit awkward since we refused to park there but no one made a fuss about it lol. When we were done and got back to our moped, a different woman came up to us and told us to pay her 10k for parking which we ignored.
