Long Son Pagoda, Nha Trang

3.9
#2 of 6 in Historic Sites in Nha Trang
Admire a huge 24 m (79 ft) tall statue of White Gautama Buddha--the largest outdoor scultpure in Vietnam--at Long Son Pagoda, the largest pagoda in the country. Intricate dragon mosaics made of glass and ceramic tiles decorate the entrance to the temple, with the large statue of the reclining Buddha resting in the temple’s well-manicured garden. Climb 152 steps to the top of the mountain to enjoy the big Buddha arising from lush greenery from a distance, as well as gaining panoramic views over the city. • Never thought I'd like vegan food but LOVE this place. Definitely order the mushroom fried rice and mushroom hotpot. Delicious and cheap!  more »
  • Beautiful is not far from the coast, admission is free to the people is not very much, but as always dirty vokruge city seen from two parts of the Buddha

  • The pagoda city vibrance and adds historicity. Particular attractions such a level we have not met. To brighten up your holiday cultural content-go. There is pure, beautiful, quiet. Treads not so much as write, views of the city. Then from the pagoda, we walked the walk to the promenade to Lotus, going on the road in the Catholic Cathedral, the shopping centre.

  • It's a huge statue. Very peaceful and quiet. Lot of them pray with inscence sticks. You have few steps to climb before reaching the statue. Also whole city can be viewed from top
  • Great spot to wander around for an hour. The gardens in front were well maintained and you'll get a decent view of town from the top. If you are lazy or it's hot as hell, take a taxi to the top and walk down.
  • Nice quiet place. The temple closes from 12noon and reopens at 2pm. Not well maintained. But do try the Coconut Jelly at the entrance of the temple. Its really good!!!
  • The statue of Buddha is good. But... be aware of the people up there are the top. Some girl is giving out incense. Do not take it! She later asks for 200,000 dong.
  • Great city views, beautiful temple, very restful atmosphere there. Bike parking is 5k vnd and don't shy to donate, this place worth it.
