Pongour Falls, Lam Dong Province

4.6/5 based on 90+ reviews on the web
Enjoy pristine nature at Pongour Falls, a popular tourist destination and place for many religious festivities. Dropping across a cascade from 40 m (131 ft), the water pours over a layered and terraced wall of rock which reduces its force making the scene look tame and poetic. According to a legend the waterfall silky streams were once hair of a beautiful beast tamer and slabs of rock were fossilized horns of her four obedient white rhinos. The waterfall stretches some 100 m (328 ft) amidst lush greenery and cicada sounds. Observe the falls from a restored royal pavilion if you do not want to walk. • We took a driver to take us there, from Dalat it takes a good hour as the road is not always the best, but already the way through the country side is great. The entrance fee is 10'000 VND, which is r...  read more »
  • Was hard to get to it, but definitely worth the trip! 2 way to get to the falls: 1. Renting a bike (the easiest and convenient way) 2. Taking an hour and half ride on a local bus from Dalat to Bao Loc...  read more »
  • Waterfall is amazing, so powerful and nice view. But so sad cant swim or shower after a long bike ride. But its recommended to visit.
  • I've been to many places (traveling around the world for past 11 months, both Americas, Nz, some Europe), and I've seen many waterfals, but these are in top 3. Astonishing! Must see. Lady in entrance wants extra 5000 for motorbike, but we said there is no way to pay something extra, so after two minutes she let us in.
  • One of my favorite waterfalls I've been to anywhere on the planet. It's a bit farther out from the reach of most tourists and tours, and as such is cleaner, quieter, and cheaper. The falls themselves are majestic, and a blast to climb (walk carefully for they are quite slippery). There are multiple levels and upon making it to the top you're rewarded with a veritable nature's jacuzzi to splash around in with a tremendous view. There is also ample swimming down at the base of the falls for those put off by the climb. There's also a friendly group of shops a ways off from the base where you can get beers and food. Make a day of it!
  • Very nice and impressive waterfall, quite far from dalat so you won't see as many tourists which is nice.
  • Big big waterfall, see it from both above and from beneath. The drive to the waterfall is just as beautiful as the waterfall if not even more so. But watch out, the road can be a bit bumpy some places
  • Amazing place! Pity people leave so much trash that seems nobody picks up later. Eco education people!!
