Art Museum Museum
Get a glimpse of Vietnamese dynastic treasure at Museum of Royal Antiquities, a traditional pavilion featuring ornate ivory pieces, gilded boxes, decorated urns, ceramics and lavish royal beds. This dark single story timber structure with pointed roof with exquisite wood carving houses a fine collection of antique pieces belonging to royal family, including gold seals, hand-stitched robes, and gilded books and silver screens. The centerpiece of a well-maintained garden is a royal urn surrounded by several muzzle-loading canons mounted on carved pedestals and a number of sculptures. Museum of Royal Antiquities is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our international travel planner, Hue Edition.

  • We got turned around in the Citadel and went out the east gate, so we ended up being only two blocks from the museum. The price of admission was included in the Citadel cost. We were so glad we went. ...  more »
  • Very interesting. Some beautiful things to see. A Worthwhile visit. However, the disappointment was you weren't allowed to take any photos.Remember to take off shoes, and don't touch anything.  more »
  • Even thogh it's included in Citadel ticket price, most tour groups won't come to this little gem. Well displayed imperial past. The building itself is beautiful.  more »

  • Suitable with you if you want to visit in Huế,after/next to Perfume River
  • Beautiful building with great exhibits. Great if you've got time, but not a must see.
  • Great exhibition in a beautiful old building.
  • Visit after the Citadel. CASS no, admission is free. Exhibits are not very much, but look interesting (clothes, tableware, games, musical instruments, coins). There is a small Hall with bas-reliefs and sculptures from the temples of Champa. Opening hours at the entrance to 17:00, but we were with 17:30 to 18:00, and the Museum worked.
