Museum of Royal Antiquities, Hue

3.2
#33 of 115 in Museums in Vietnam
Get a glimpse of Vietnamese dynastic treasure at Museum of Royal Antiquities, a traditional pavilion featuring ornate ivory pieces, gilded boxes, decorated urns, ceramics and lavish royal beds. This dark single story timber structure with pointed roof with exquisite wood carving houses a fine collection of antique pieces belonging to royal family, including gold seals, hand-stitched robes, and gilded books and silver screens. The centerpiece of a well-maintained garden is a royal urn surrounded by several muzzle-loading canons mounted on carved pedestals and a number of sculptures. Museum of Royal Antiquities is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our international travel planner, Hue Edition.

The antique museum in the Royal Palace admission knew that Palace admission tickets will swallowed up by machine in the card, so when purchasing tickets to the Museum want to go tell the antique museum for paper tickets I've gotten by. You can taste the atmosphere and admiring the exhibition to tour, take off your shoes, rather than feeling. A modern building is a small air-conditioned, there had seemed to be Champa excavated exhibit one. It is also interesting.

The Museum of Royal antiques in the beautiful long Palace is worth a visit. The long Palace is architecturally very nice with lots of Windows. The exhibits are interesting and their number is manageable. Everything is clear and clearly presented.

Beautiful building with great exhibits. Great if you've got time, but not a must see.

Visit after the Citadel. CASS no, admission is free. Exhibits are not very much, but look interesting (clothes, tableware, games, musical instruments, coins). There is a small Hall with bas-reliefs and sculptures from the temples of Champa. Opening hours at the entrance to 17:00, but we were with 17:30 to 18:00, and the Museum worked.
