Proclaimed a National Historical and Cultural Site, The Old House of Phun Hung offers a perfectly preserved example of an 18th-century Vietnamese town house. Built in 1780, the two-story building displays Vietnamese, Japanese, and Chinese architectural influences, with a spherical roof reminiscent of a turtle shell reflecting the latter style on the second floor. As you enter, occupants of the house will greet you with a tour, depicting the site’s history and up-selling numerous handicrafts and souvenirs located around the house. Chat to the locals and admire the 80 pristine wooden columns supporting the house, stopping for a closer look when something catches your eye.
