4.3/5 based on 420+ reviews on the web
Find textiles, lanterns, and apparel at Hoi An Silk Village, a craft center inside a resort. Because of its location inside the resort and spa, this attraction has a more calm atmosphere than many other Vietnamese markets. This site also has ancient Quang Nam-style homes and displays on the old silk manufacturing process. Browse through traditional and modern designs, as well as handmade crafts like tapestries made from the textiles of 12 local artists. When you tire of shopping, you can stroll through the resort and see its mulberry trees and lotus ponds. • We started the tour with tasting of Mulberry juice. Our guide, who spoke french and English, accompanied us in this visit that follows the entire cycle of the silk manufacturing. You learn interesting things and you can see all the know-how of the craftsmen who work under our eyes. The setting is very peaceful early morning and we had a private visit. I recommend you to go to the opening!

  • Took our kids here and had a really interesting tour (VND100k pp) and the kids made a silk lantern each (VND70k ea), a nice low key way to spend the afternoon)
  • Great tour learning about Vietnamese silk. We arrived to the silk village and paid 5$ for a tour. You learn about the different traditional costumes, the making of the silk (breading silk worm), weaving and to tell the difference between artificial and 100% pure silk. We both found the tour very interesting. You may end the tour with some shopping but the staff is not pushy, which I much appreciated. It would be nice if you could deduct the price of the tour from your purchases at the shop.
  • Was taken there as part of cycle tour, surprise! Brilliant! Fascinating! Interesting! Made my own silk lantern. Silk worm pupas do taste like potato!

  • If you in Hoi over time has, then you can certainly recommend the silk village. You will find both Museum with a practical demonstration, such as silk from the Caterpillar until the final thread is created and is processed and was processed in the past. Of course, you can also directly buy products which you always can advise in Viet Nam, because there after some searching on the local markets at a fraction of the cost to buy them quality and products.
