Hoi An Night Market, Hoi An

Flea Market Shopping
On the busy banks of the Thu Bon River lies Hoi An Night Market, a bevy of stalls packed with fresh fish, fruit and vegetables, traditional fragrant herbs and spices, and Vietnamese silk of various colors. Examine the authentic Vietnamese port life, where traders gather amid bustling alleys to sell their exotic goods. Besides food vendors, renowned tailors work part of the marketplace, creating clothing made of all sorts of materials at rock-bottom prices. A lot of salespeople tend to get pushy, in which case simply smile and continue your stroll through the market. Ready your bargaining skills to bring down the deliberately exaggerated prices. Put Hoi An Night Market and other Hoi An attractions into our Hoi An vacation trip planner, and watch your holiday take shape.

  • A cosy night market, great for gift and various bells and whistles. At booth No. 32, we have been serving especially friendly and were able to buy some things at a fair price, while the salesperson was very friendly.

  • Not often can you find yourself in a night market not surrounded by pushy sellers offering you "the best deal". Stall 34 genuinely does the best deal, the owner is honest and chatty and the friendlies...  more »

  • Not bad, always seems to be packed with people. All the vendors try to sell their goods to you. Can get irritating if you just want to have a look. They do have some cool souvenirs though. There are also some food stalls that sell snacks thats are really good. (They don't want you taking photos)
  • The plane should drop you here first so you could get a first taste of Vietnam without all the trash on the streets and the crazy trafic. Definitely worth the trip to here. You will also have the chance to get some good pics.
  • Was super busy the night we were there, but lots for stalls selling basically all the same stuff. Lots of food choices which is great. The ice creams are awesome for $1.50
  • Store 33. The guys enthusiasm was good fun and we bought several things from his store. Qould recommend trying atleast once while in Hoi an
  • Gorgeous. Go before sunset and watch the market transition from a day market to a night market. With a golden red sky, all the lanterns turn on and the river is filled with good-wish candles. Very touristy and therefore many salespeople.

Where to stay in Hoi An

While Hoi An offers a good selection of sleeping options in all price categories, only a few of them lie in the old town, probably the city's most popular tourist area. To stay near this historic neighborhood, look for hotels in the surrounding streets, especially Ba Trieu and Hai Ba Trung. If you can, look for rooms in the evening, when many budget hotels try to fill up by offering deep discounts. For the best choices and bargains, reserve as early as possible.
