Monument Landmark
Admire a military genius who repelled Mongol forces amidst heavy traffic at Tran Hung Dao Statue, a stern looking bronze elevated on tall red marble pedestal overlooking Saigon River. Surrounded by modern skyscrapers, the monument is set in a well-maintained garden. The statue’s finger points downward at spectators as a sign of warning, representing Vietnam’s historic defiance and a firm vision of the future. • Monument is cool, but there isn't much to see. It is located next to many other attractions, so worth passing by. Lovely buildings surround it, and it faces the river.  more »

  • I am not a big fan of statues. I suppose i could tell you that it remains undamaged, and the locals love to hang-out here, but nothing special.
  • This area of Saigon is very lively 24/7. The statue of Tran Hung Dao Is very prominently displayed in Vietnam many places for good reason.I photograph this one in Vun Tau.I hope no one takes offence to my copy and placing it here. With his hand out stretched and his finger pointing as a warning to all invaders, beware.I call it the Vietnam, finger. The location here has a lot of nice shops to see, walk around here is fun. These ships caught me eye and I had to have a pic as back home I have a soft spot to looking at ships of any kind.
