Temple of the Buddha's Relic (Xa Loi pagoda), Ho Chi Minh City

Known for its inner walls depicting the life of the Buddha, Temple of the Buddha's Relic (Xa Loi pagoda) once served as the center of the opposition to the Diem government. In 1963, the sanctuary was ransacked and all of its 400 nuns and monks were placed under arrest.   • The temple is a nice and well preserved relic of hcm.. but it seems to be a bit forgotten . There was a man here the day I visited who was just gazing as people walked in ..not sure if he was the care...  more »
  • This temple is smaller than other ones in HCM (in my opinion). Also there are not so many tourists. So you can enjoy tranquil atmosphere. The tower is somewhat tall and other architectures and designs...  more »
  • Boasts a beautiful garden, which is one of the more important of the temple, as in the can enjoy the presence of a tree, very special as it is the Bodhi Tree, moved from Sri Lanka to Viet Nam.

  • Not a spectacular pagoda. There are some nice plants on display. Not much to do but take a few quick pics.
  • The place is nice and it is a truly original worship place for budists. Although the place is far and there is not much to see, it is interesting to watch locals in their praying. (*forbidden to enter in shorts, sandals or tanktops)
  • Not much to see really. Spent less than 5 mins. Was quite disappointing
  • Only great for people who come her to pray and meditate, it's not for tourists
  • A lot of devoted locals worshipping means this is an authentic place. No one try to sell you tourist things here when I went at 7pm on a wed
