Quoc Tu Pagoda, Ho Chi Minh City

Quoc Tu Pagoda is one of the tallest and largest pagodas in the city. The seven-stories-tall temple, decorated with brightly colored statues of deities and mythical creatures, was built in 1963. On most days, only the first two floors are open for public. An unusual shrine built from miniature Buddha statues set against the backdrop of a cloudy-sky mural on the second floor is probably the best reason for visiting. • 1,400-year-old temple with a 10-story tower. All surrounded by gardens. Tradition has it that the "bodhi" tree (ficus religiosa) located in the garden, is actually derived from a tree cutting original under which Buddha used to sit. You can continue with a walk around the Hoan Kiem Lake where you can see the "black Tower". Recommended. The Team Leader

  • Off the tourist track, this pagoda has the merit of being authentic as frequented by the local population, without any tourist worries. Its tower roofs looked upstairs is very photogenic, as the colors of the pagoda are not very traditional.
