People's Committee Building, Ho Chi Minh City

(4/5 based on 220+ reviews on the web)
A prominent landmark and possibly the most photographed structure in the city, People's Committee Building serves as a city hall. Initially built as a hotel at the turn of the 20th century, the building faces a landscaped square with a standing statue of Ho Chi Minh raising his right hand to greet his followers. The building is most impressive at night, when artificial illumination makes it look like a European castle. Sadly, you'll only get to admire the French colonial style exterior, as the interior remains closed for public. Use our Ho Chi Minh City family vacation planner to visit People's Committee Building on your trip to Ho Chi Minh City, and learn what else travelers and our writers recommend seeing nearby.

  • For information on the people's square, don't know. Just heard that a place so pretty at night went to where it was. This looks like a nice relaxing night's watch during the day, it's really beautiful.

  • Nguyen hue Street, has a fluttering flag of the Viet Nam across the square with the statue of Ho Chi Minh City people's Committee Hall. It is a beautiful décor is luxurious and ornate or Hall area corresponds to the France colonial town hall, Prefecture, now says in Japan once, and foreigners are placed as seen from the outside, but very unlikely Government Office buildings. Will be lit up at night.

  • No entry to the City hall but a great spot to take photos of the building itself, of the nice boulevard and of course of the Ho Chi Minh statue.

  • How to review a building that is not accessible to the public? It is nice to take a look at the colonial architecture. It also makes a good photo background and a sort of majestic backdrop for the famous Nguyen Hue Boulevard. However, don't loiter in front of the building or the guards will chase you away.
