Stop by Jade Emperor Pagoda, a colorful temple honoring the supreme Taoist god. Built by the Chinese community in 1909, the temple features a large statue of the God of Heavens, with two assistants seated in the central hall taking numerous offerings. Light a candle or burn incense, and observe worshippers reading sutras and socializing in the tropical garden outside the pagoda. Visit the central pond to see the many resident tortoises, which you can feed. Famous for its intensely colored life-size figurines--considered among the finest in the city--the temple serves as a vital and popular religious center. • The interesting thing about this place is that you don't expect how many "hidden" rooms there are leading to other delights
  • An interesting if popular temple that is free to visit. Well worth your time if you are in downtown Saigon. Interesting woodwork and a good example of the mixing of Confucian, Buddhist, and Taoist motifs that is common among in ethnic Chinese temples.
  • Just realize this is direct word translate from 玉王大帝 Chinese word. I though it is a temple made from jade.... :p Realize that there are many Chinese temple culture in Saigon.

  • There are many architectural features of this building that would be interesting if you could find them. There are hundreds of better pagodas and temples to see in Vietnam.
  • Good place for sight seeing
