Stop by Emperor Jade Pagoda, a colorful temple honoring the supreme Taoist god. Built by the Chinese community in 1909, the temple features a large statue of the God of Heavens, with two assistants seated in the central hall taking numerous offerings. Light a candle or burn incense, and observe worshippers reading sutras and socializing in the tropical garden outside the pagoda. Visit the central pond to see the many resident tortoises, which you can feed. Famous for its intensely colored life-size figurines--considered among the finest in the city--the temple serves as a vital and popular religious center. • Without our guide telling us what we were viewing in the various rooms, we would have been clueless. There's much to know about this pagoda and if you don't have a guide, be sure to read up on it...

  • Historic and well kept. New restroom facility along the side is a good addition. Bike parking is free and orderly managed. A must visit while in the city.
  • This aged old temple is magnificent and spiritually amazing. Feeling great after visited yesterday. It's wonderful to know that former US president Obama been here before!
  • Traditional temple with long history. Well maintained. Crowded so beware of pickpocket
  • As always my weekly visited place for my prayers. Always crowded. Always respected by praying crowds.
  • Went on the 2nd day of the Tet holiday. Beautiful temple and had an interesting traditional lion and dragon costume show going on. It was quite busy with local worshipers on this day, but I imagine it’s usually much quieter. As others have mentioned, there are turtles in smaller and dirtier than desired cages. Besides that it’s a nice place to visit and one of the best temples in the city.
