  • Firstly, if you are a tourist - Vinh Nghiem Pagoda is better than Jade Emperor Pagoda. I have no idea why the other one is so popular with tourists, it's quite dirty & has many pigeons. Vinh Nghiem is...  more »

  • Nice pagoda near the town centre. This is the first pagoda in Vietnam to be built (1964 to 1971) in Vietnamese traditional style but with modern materials. There is a 7 story, 40 metre high tower. One of the highlights for tourists in Ho Chi Minh City. A visit is recommended.
  • Today is the 15th of Lunar month, so I came here for prayer with my Wife. A huge temple in Chinese style with the Goddess of Mercy standing infront of the main hall. It attract a lot of crowd, and only start to disperse at noon time. Great place, only thing is I got turned off by the people selling flower at the main entrance. They can be annoying.
  • Nice temple but didn't enjoy being repeatedly blown kisses by one of the male caretakers as I wandered around. A compliment maybe or a bit creepy? I think creepy.
  • It is a relative new temple and the building is well maintained. It is typical in design of a Chinese temple, although the present of a large bell is not so common. The pagoda is interesting but it was closed to visitor on that day so I can't comment. It is not too far from the downtown so the taxi fare is OK. We got the front desk to write the name of the temple and the place we intended to go after that in Vietnamese so as to avoid an problem with language.
  • My favorite pagoda I visited while here. Lots to see and explore and wasn't busy at all when I went
