Famous for its Binh Tay Market, Chinatown (Cho Lon) - District 5 is full of teahouses, pagodas, and restaurants. This neighborhood dates back to 1778 and is popular among many tourists, but especially those from China and Taiwan. It was here that Chinese people hid from Tay Son and, later during the Vietnam war, American soldiers traded for goods on black market. Aside from shopping and eating traditional food, you can visit several sites in the district including notable mosques and temples. • If you have visited several chinatowns in other countries this adds nothing new. A buzzing with activity that is enhanced by the thousands of mopeds that continuously over drive. In front you will find mostly clothing and household items. In the back of the fresh produce market where the Department of meat and fish pretty much demands of your sense of smell.

  • there is nothing to see there, the only reason i would go back would be the markets, you get probably get better deals there than ben than market
  • The neighborhood is worth experiencing, and "forced" to see. The market place was chaos, but an experience of a lifetime. Purchase hysteria can hit, it is just a difficult choice from among the thousands of products just got it right
