Military Museum Museum
Admire an impressive collection of war trophies at Vietnam Military History Museum, featuring the wreckage of the giant B52 Stratofortress downed during the US Christmas bombing of 1972. Spanning 12.8 ha (31.6 ac) in central Hanoi, the museum has a large open-air exhibit boasting an F-111 Aardvark, an A-1 Skyraider, an A-37 Dragonfly, and a Bell UH-1 Iroquios helicopter, as well as a Soviet MiG-21, an S-75 Dvina SAMs and a T54 tank. A huge number of artillery pieces and armored vehicles will make you understand the full scale and logistics of the notoriously modern war, which claimed more than one million lives. Artifacts on display inside the museum tell the gruesome and shocking story of wars waged on Vietnamese territory since ancient times. Indeed, lying at the heart of modern Vietnamese identity, the art of war has been detailed in great detail here. • Didn't know the Vietnamese where always fighting against occupationary forces for 1000s of years... the museum educates you on this. Unfortunately the later 60s early 70s section was closed for maintenance and I missed the interesting end to the American war. July is very warm and humid and the museum makes you sweat it out. Quite a few typos on the various description. But enjoyed an educative few hours This photo of a 4 ft Vietcong woman capturing a 6ft American pilot seems to picture the overall war aptly... And the second one should be titled - Vietcong peasant fighter woman meets an F14
  • Very interesting military museum from ancient Vietnam to recent war aircrafts and tanks of the 60's. Peace everyone! ✌️
  • Very interesting but so many tourists getting in way of monuments. Definitely worth the very cheap admission though. Pretty cool to see all the military artifacts.
  • this museum shown me the history of vietnam's war. they had video documentary, weapons, tank, broken jet (?). Good to know, but not so special for me personally. you have to pay more if you bring camera, cell phone is fine
  • Wish they had an English guide. There were no stories, just pictures and captions. It should be better descriptive. It could've been a really cool museum.
