Watch silk weavers and silk dyers in Van Phuc Silk Village, on the banks of Nhue River. Explore various shops with colorful shiny patters and take a pleasant stroll under banyan trees. Listen to the sound of power and manual looms making traditional weaving and premium silk products and take a close up view of silk worms and their cocoons. Boasting a tradition of over 1,200 years which clothed Vietnamese royal families, this is one of the best developed and most visited craft villages of 90 such villages near the capital. Some 8 km (5 mi) southwest of Hanoi, the village offers tourist facilities and traders speak English or French.
