Old Quarter, Hanoi

Must see · Historic Walking Area · Neighborhood
Walk to the hum of local traffic and curious tourists in Old Quarter, the business district and downtown hub of Hanoi that dates back to the 13th century. Bearing the names of the businesses that once stood there, the quarter's narrow streets teem with cafes, bars, temples, shops, teahouses, and stalls selling French and Vietnamese foods. Watch a water puppet show, plant yourself at a sidewalk cafe to drink a local beer, or bargain with a smile at shops and street food stalls. • You have almost everything Vietnamese to try here
  • Mist amusing part about Hanoi. I spent 2 weeks there in 2018. Vibrant all day and alive till very late night. Amazing walk around the lake and variety of restaurants and street food and mix between foriegners and locals. If you are visiting Hanoi just find a stay in this part of the town.
  • An amazing place to enjoy good time. Great variety of local food, street food, good restaurants, roadside cafes. Also the place has many hostels, hotels and airbnbs to stay. The market has a great variety of cheap but quality stuff. One can enjoy a good time with friends here.
  • Good
  • The Old Quarter is really quite a special place. There are so many people everywhere that’s it’s mind boggling ! I can’t imagine how things will be after covid goes away. The architecture here is quite French and the restaurant and bar scenes here are magical. We loved being here and hanging around to soak in the atmosphere.
