  • We were in Hanoi for 3 nights and every night walked the night market, come rain or dry. The streets will be closed to traffic yet the occasional motorbikes will compete for space with shoppers. Very ...  more »
  • Markets in general have been a bit of a let down in Vietnam for me (having visited other markets in Asia). Don't expect variety or good quality! But we really enjoyed walking around the lake and watch...  more »
  • We went on a Sunday night. Main streets are closed and markets are set up. A lot of people come but it doesn't feel uncomfortably crowded. Street performers/artists, street food, people playing games,...  more »

  • Its a street market that you can find throughout the world. But this is Hanoi and it was great. You can find just about anything you need. Vendors selling beer, juice, Ice cream and those delicious sandwiches. Another must do if your in Hanoi. I had a stroller so it made it a little daunting at first.
  • Spent the weekend in the Hanoi Old Quarter, within 2 blocks of the night market. It's quite busy, even in the winter. The weather was still warm, all the shops we're spread into the streets with stalls down the middle. The prices seemed ok for this type of market, although people will definitely charge more from tourists. The stalls are good, look out for the people walking and carrying goods and food. They'll just push them into your hands and try to get some money, easy enough to ignore and walk past. There are also a ton of restaurants and bars right around here that are open late. Some of the streets barely have walking room because of all of the tables they put out, but they block cars from most of this area while the market is open. Definitely worth a stop if you're in Hanoi on the weekend.
  • People can buy goods for cheapest prices from this market. Unless you bargain you cant get low prices. But if you start bargaining you can get a great deal. On the otherhand please keep the wollets in your hand .. It is dangerous to keep the money in the pockets. The sellers put their hands in customers pockets and try to take money unless you are not very aware on your pocket. They are very keen on the money when you keep showing the notes. However we can buy goods from 6pm to 10pm on week ends
  • Busy, bustling and only around from Friday to sundays, we were lucky that our short getaway to Vietnam coincided with the weekend night market in Hanoi. Delicious street food can be found here, and we got takoyaki, potato sticks, dumpling on sticks, lemon juice, etc in our hour of browsing the night market. We also found a banana sticky rice dessert with a shaved coconut and tapioca cream which was delicious! Good place to get little gifts or mementos of Vietnam, always make sure to bargain!
  • People dancing in the street and live music. Great vibe. A few of the streets are closed to traffic. The night market is on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening and ends at 10pm. Lots of fake goods such as Glasses, Watches, Trainers, Bags, Jackets, Belts, TShirts, Wallets as well as souviners and funky clothing. Lots of great food too.
