Hanoi Flag Tower, Hanoi

3.6
#7 of 50 in Museums in Hanoi
A prominent 19th-century landmark, Hanoi Flag Tower stands as the most recognizable feature of the city's World Heritage Site, the Hanoi Citadel. King Gia oversaw the building of this tower between 1805 and 1812. It is an iconic attraction because it is one of the only structures in the city that wasn't destroyed in the late 19th-century French invasion. The flag at the top of this attraction stands at 41 m (134 ft) high. When you visit the site, you can climb stairs to the top of the tower and take in views of the city. • Historical place, unfortunately did not rise to the top, as passed on this day 15 km and without erection towers. Inspected outside, very interesting building and the atmosphere outside.

  • I went to 10/2017. World Heritage sites in Hanoi is one of the "Hanoi thang long Ojo remains central district" configuration inheritance. You need to reach this tower from the thang long archaeological site, not from Viet Nam military history museum. Museum admission is required only if the flag Tower went simultaneously so that you enter the Museum.

  • I was not going to climb it but my curiosity got the best of me. Glad I did. Fantastic climb inside the tower. Only wish I could have gone higher. Great view of the museum next door. A must do if your in Hanoi. Liked to have seen it 100 years ago.
  • One of Hanoi symbols. Nice tower you can go upstair and look around . See the Vietnamese flag weaving make you feel the Vietnamese atmosphere!
  • This is located on the grounds at the Vietnam Military History Museum. Built from 1805 to 1812 during Nguyen Dynasty. It has flown the National flag 24/7/365 since 10-10-1954. The hours you can see it are the hours of the museum.
  • An interesting structure, with small arches and steep stairs. Three levels. No good view of the city, only of the vehicles in the war museum.
  • Having a great time and take a picture of Sưa flower
