Stretching along 4 km (2.5 mi) of the capital city's dyke wall, Hanoi Ceramic Mosaic Mural serves as one of the area's most creative monuments. This mural was built as a part of Hanoi's millennial anniversary and illustrates the history of Vietnam. Numerous artists and four embassies made this piece of art based on an award-winning idea from former Miss Vietnam Nguyen Thu Thuy. The design was completed in 2010 and used ceramic tesserae.
