Hanoi Ancient House, Hanoi
(3.9/5 based on 240+ reviews on the web)
Get to know how 19th-century Hanoians lived at Hanoi Ancient House, located in the city's historic old quarter. The restored house represents typical Hanoian architecture of the period: long and narrow, with a square garden connecting its two sections and a small balcony on the first floor. Note the house's typical yellow shade, and the unique design that maximizes light. Take a turn around the interior to see the well-preserved old furniture and decor. You can also buy some traditional Vietnamese decorations and souvenirs in the onsite shop. Put Hanoi Ancient House into our Hanoi trip itinerary builder and find out what's close by, where to stay, and where to head next.

  • I really like to visit places that reveal the story and keep the marks of the past. This beautiful home has given me both. Built in the late 19th century, was the residence of merchants. On its walls, rooms and furniture we can observe how was life in this place. Customs and way of life are revealed in every corner of the House. A nice picture of the time and generations that passed that way. The architecture is very beautiful. We did the tour with our guide to Vietnamese, with fluency in Spanish.

  • Really nice place to go, but 20 minutes is enough to visit. There is nothing special, just a really nice historic house.

  • It's an interesting attraction, but there's not much there. That said, admission isn't exactly expensive. If you're interested in this part of Vietnamese history or simply just older architecture, it's worth a visit. I quite enjoyed it.
  • Interesting how things were set up in a house of a wealthy merchant. Best to come with a local guide to explain things to you.
  • A dusty but interesting space.
  • Good to see how it was in the past
  • Nice nostalgic
