Dong Thien Cung, Halong Bay

(360+ reviews on the web)
Cave
One of the main sites in the network of caves surrounding Ha Long Bay, Dong Thien Cung sits shrouded in local myths of dragons and lovers. During this first stop on many of the bay’s cave tours, you'll encounter a complex, naturally formed interior of stalactites, stalagmites, and cathedral-like dome ceilings spread over roughly 10,000 sq m (10,7639 sq ft). Said to have hosted the seven-day wedding festivities of the dragon king and cloud princess, many of the eerily lit rock formations are attributed to guests of the mythical party turning into stone. Ask your guide to point out the numerous characters while carefully walking to the center of the cave. Work out when and for how long to visit Dong Thien Cung and other Halong Bay attractions using our handy Halong Bay vacation generator.

  • Nice caves in the bay. Definitely beautiful and a most see while exploring Halong Bay. The way up is tiring but worth it.  more »
  • It came in the middle of the Halong Bay Cruise. The ship was about a 40-minute walking tour. Stairs to the entrance of the hillside was quite steep. During arukimasu along the path, but as a whole there lit here and there in one big space. Only entrance was open when you found this cave is visible at the top of the middle hole in the current entrance is opened from is a thing. Good design makes a natural. With good walking shoes. Small kiosks and toilets are a little bit down from the exit. Three of the women's restrooms, private four was no toilet seat.

  • A wee bit of a climb of stairs, but they are straight, and probably the best I've walked over in Vietnam. The opportunity to go and take amazing photos just blows me away  more »
