At Son Tra Mountain (Monkey Mountain), you can meet several species of primates, including one of the rarest of monkeys in the world--the red-shanked douc langurs. Named "Monkey Mountain" by American soldiers stationed here during the Vietnam War, the area remains covered with an evergreen tropical forests. Hike or bike along the main paved road for a chance to run into a family of doucs watching passers-by from the treetops. Observe these colorful acrobats, with white tails and golden faces, screaming and jumping from branch to branch. Notice the rope bridges suspended between trees, made specifically for the monkeys. Other residents of the mountain include long-tailed macaques, rhesus macaques, and pygmy slow lorises.   • Its view was so beautiful, amazing. This is a wonderful place you must visit in Da Nang. You will feel it beauty clearly when going by motobike. 
  • Actually, the only way to Monkey Mountain living renting a motor in Da Nang. Costs (2017) 4 to 5 $ (80,000-100,000 VND) per day. With the engine just a few km the boulevard/coastal road to the foot of the mountain. Than via small roads through the jungle. Many beautiful views of Da Nang and the sea. Sometimes the roads are steep, but everywhere paved and secure with best rates guaranteed. Try to choose a day when the air is clear, not foggy. There are many monkeys on the mountain, but would you like to see them, you have to stop the engine, a 15-minute silence, and then there is a reasonable chance that they come forth ....

  • This was a round trip from Lady Buddha you start at the base go to Lady Buddha and eventually end up at monkey mountain and come out the other side.the views are very appealing the lookout at the top ...  more »
