Mountain
At Son Tra Mountain (Monkey Mountain), you can meet several species of primates, including one of the rarest of monkeys in the world--the red-shanked douc langurs. Named "Monkey Mountain" by American soldiers stationed here during the Vietnam War, the area remains covered with an evergreen tropical forests. Hike or bike along the main paved road for a chance to run into a family of doucs watching passers-by from the treetops. Observe these colorful acrobats, with white tails and golden faces, screaming and jumping from branch to branch. Notice the rope bridges suspended between trees, made specifically for the monkeys. Other residents of the mountain include long-tailed macaques, rhesus macaques, and pygmy slow lorises.
