#1 of 8 in Museums in Da Nang
Detailing the peculiar Hindu heritage of coastal Vietnam, Da Nang Museum of Cham Sculpture houses the largest collection of Cham artifacts in the world, with exquisite pieces ranging from the 2nd to 15th century CE. Featuring some 300 stone and terracotta pieces, the museum showcases masterpieces of Indic carving and architecture with elaborate ornaments rescued from Angkor Wat and My Son after a week of U.S. carpet bombing in August 1969. The 1919 French colonial building includes a large sculpture garden with highly ornate mythical creatures set in stone. • Comprehensively, the exhibits show the artistic creativity of the Cham people. Fairly new Museum can easily be reached on the Dragon bridge.

  • The 60,000d are totally worth it if you like museums and history. Its a simple museum with a lot of sculptures and vestiges from the Champa that used to live in what's now Vietnam and Cambodia. Mostly know for My Son. A little bit more information in English would e appreciated, specially about the sculptures and the meaning of them. Maybe going with a tour guide would be a great option. There's also a photo exhibition in the second floor.
  • Nice venue, but a quick visit if you’re not into staring at stone. As a museum mostly visited by Western people (my uber driver said he only ever took foreigners here, my friend said he once went as a kid) some context) it lacks some context. Yes we have smart phones, but a good museum evokes interest rather than kills it.
  • Various objects. Good space. Good guides for foreigner. 60.000 VND (2.5 USD/pax). Professional
  • Moderately interesting museum with good artifacts but lack of explanations. Not too big and can be visited in 30-45 min
  • Great.collection of art about which I knew nothing before my visit. Well worth the time.
