Categories: Specialty Museums, Museums
Detailing the peculiar Hindu heritage of coastal Vietnam, Da Nang Museum of Cham Sculpture houses the largest collection of Cham artifacts in the world, with exquisite pieces ranging from the 2nd to 15th century CE. Featuring some 300 stone and terracotta pieces, the museum showcases masterpieces of Indic carving and architecture with elaborate ornaments rescued from Angkor Wat and My Son after a week of U.S. carpet bombing in August 1969. The 1919 French colonial building includes a large sculpture garden with highly ornate mythical creatures set in stone.
You have to be an ' expert ' to distinguish between many the same images. Yet they are well preserved in a small museum.show original

It's another place like that if you don't know about religion and history, the visit is completely pointless. Will end up seeing a lot of stone. About the Museum, I think it's a shame because bao this preserved, is located beside the River then get enough moisture. The parts is also within reach of the people, and although the Board all end up playing. Too bad, because they are unique and will end up wearing most.show original
This museum is was worth the visit in my opinion. It has a nice collection of statues and tablets from the often forgotten or overlooked Champa Empire. Although the museum itself is rather small it is definitely worth the visit as you will walk away with a better understanding of an ancient empire.
Amazing place for people who love history and sculpture. Recommend go with audio guide (Vietnamese and English). Price: Ticket: 2$ Audio guide: 1$
