Da Nang Cathedral, Da Nang

3.3
#5 of 22 in Historic Sites in Quang Nam Province
A sugar-pink structure lavishly decorated in the Gothic style, Da Nang Cathedral stands out as the only church in Da Nang. Constructed in 1923 by a French priest, the cathedral remains the only religious imprint left by French colonialists in the city. Approach a 70 m (229.7 ft) chocolate-box bell tower topped with a rooster weathervane, before entering a simply adorned interior of elegant arches and stained glass windows. Home to the Roman Catholic diocese in central Vietnam, the church serves over 4,000 of the local Catholic community, so get here early if you want to catch a sermon to avoid missing out on a seat. We had the chance to see it from outside but not to visit as a mass was underway. At gatherings (masses), visits are closed and access severely restricted.

Since the pink church stands out. So worship time but cannot see during the tour only in appearance. I think good in Da Nang City sights are not so much I dropped in the middle of the shop.

The outside of this cathedral is pink. It is a small cathedral. A regular cathedral that hosts religious ceremonies.  more »

The catherdal is very unique and attractive because of the pink colour. Near the catherdal there is a local bus stop. But the front door is always closed that the entrace is actually behind the alley, and many tourists may always misunderstand the route of entering into.

It's is what you can actually see from pics attached. Church isn't open for public viewing unless U attend mass during stipulated times.

Where to stay in Da Nang

Da Nang contains surprisingly abundant hotel options, despite its relatively low-key tourism. The rainiest season lasts from September to December, while the drier spring sees more travelers; still, you generally don't need to book a room very far in advance. A broad range of hostels for backpackers on budgets clusters near the beach and on the west side of the Han River. Spectacular resorts line the oceanfront, many offering private beach access, spa packages, water sports, and diving.
