Geologic Formation Nature / Park
Take the longest single-cable car ride in the world to reach a replica of a French castle at Ba Na Hills, a hill station and a theme park resort in the Annamite Range. Originally founded in 1919 by French colonists, the hill station turned resort now offers a number of theme parks, ranging from a fantasy dino-park area to a provincial European village. An impressive 27 m (88.5 ft) tall white statue of a Shakyamuni Buddha sits perched on the top, overlooking thick jungle and silky waterfalls. You can watch 5D movies, choose an international restaurant, or play numerous interactive family or individual games. The 15-minute cable ride totaling 5,801 m (19,032 ft) in length provides fantastic scenery. Add Ba Na Hills and other attractions to your Da Nang trip itinerary using our Da Nang itinerary planner.

Where to stay in Da Nang

Da Nang contains surprisingly abundant hotel options, despite its relatively low-key tourism. The rainiest season lasts from September to December, while the drier spring sees more travelers; still, you generally don't need to book a room very far in advance. A broad range of hostels for backpackers on budgets clusters near the beach and on the west side of the Han River. Spectacular resorts line the oceanfront, many offering private beach access, spa packages, water sports, and diving.

  • Would recommend for the ride, but buy your ticket before you get there. Very crowded, very touristy, pushy, uncomfortable. The cheesiest music and entertainment I've ever seen in my life. And the food...  more »
  • Stick to appreciating the view, eating/drinking at the tea house in the spirituality/temple areas. The rest i.e. amusement areas/French guff is absolute rubbish. Sorry to say it but that's my thoughts...  more »
  • We did a private tour of ba na hills, village, cable car etc. It was really worthwhile with plenty to see and experience. The cable car and train ride are certainly highlights. It is a lot cooler than...  more »
