Thien Vien Truc Lam, Da Lat

(4.5/5 based on 750+ reviews on the web)
Explore a peaceful compound near Tuyền Lăm Lake at Thien Vien Truc Lam, which practices the teachings of Zen Buddhism. As you approach the holy site, notice the prominent bell tower and the pagoda's tiled roofs as they contrast the surrounding pine forest. You can access the temple either directly via 61 steps, or go past the lake and climb 222 steps to the main courtyard through the triple-gated entrance. The public area located on a spacious plateau overlooks Benhuit Mountain and contains a ceremonial hall with a lotus-seated Gautama Buddha statue, flanked by guest facilities and a rose garden on the left and a bell tower on the right. The domestic area for monks and nuns remains closed to the public. • The visit starts with the ascent to the cableway, with beautiful views at the bottom. At the upper station later settled the pagodas of the current monastery. The Park is very clean and well maintained-beautiful! On the buildings of wind music which weigh shimmer sounds when the slightest blow. Despite the large number of visitors in the Park you can find a secluded spot. Many unusual plants.

  • Today went to this monastery. We traveled by taxi from the City Centre (Crazy House) 5 minutes maximum, grab your small machine of yellow cabs, they are the cheapest in Dalat, landing just 5000 VND and the most reasonable prices. TSD worth 80000 VND there/back to adult. From a booth offering stunning views! Place is very well kept, surrounded by flowers and trees, the area is not very big, but we had to take a walk. To visit it is necessary that the knees and shoulders were covered up. In Maya won't be allowed, and the legs will close the skirt at the entrance, if you're in shorts. Because for us it was the first visit to Buddhist shrines, I can say that we enjoyed it completely!

  • We took the cable car to the monastery and were be loht through a beautiful view. The plant itself is maintained and a glimpse in the life of the monks. We have been invited even by a few monks to eat and could talk with them. Great experience!
