Elephant Falls, Da Lat

(3.8/5 based on 1,100+ reviews on the web)
Feel the force of nature as you stand on giant boulders in the middle of the water at Elephant Falls, a massive 30 m (98 ft) tall curved waterfall crashing onto the rocks below. Set amid rugged terrain surrounded by a heavily farmed area with some pristine forests, small caves, and ancient trees, the waterfall got its name after a local legend involving elephants and the song of a heartbroken girl. Following a steep, slippery walk on stone steps with some railings, you can reach an observation point above the falls. Below, you can also enter a small cave behind the falls, where you'll get sprayed with misty water. Lying some 30 km (18.6 mi) from Dalat, you can reach the site easily by catching a local bus. • We opted not to take the stairs, but rather walked the 1 km or so path to the waterfall. At the bottom, what a sight. We went in February, so the water was low. One can just imagine what this area is ...  more »
  • A large, powerful waterfall! A little dingy. Pretty slippery, don't forget comfortable shoes. You can go to trekking.

  • The city tour included is as part of the tour. This one and Datania falls are well worth the time to see.  more »
