Elephant Falls, Da Lat
Categories: Waterfalls, Landmarks, Nature & Parks, Tourist Spots
Feel the force of nature as you stand on giant boulders in the middle of the water at Elephant Falls, a massive 30 m (98 ft) tall curved waterfall crashing onto the rocks below. Set amid rugged terrain surrounded by a heavily farmed area with some pristine forests, small caves, and ancient trees, the waterfall got its name after a local legend involving elephants and the song of a heartbroken girl. Following a steep, slippery walk on stone steps with some railings, you can reach an observation point above the falls. Below, you can also enter a small cave behind the falls, where you'll get sprayed with misty water. Lying some 30 km (18.6 mi) from Dalat, you can reach the site easily by catching a local bus. It's a looking take area, but you really have to be careful to get to the scenic platform. The rock area is wet and slippery. The water isn't not very nice looking during rainy season.
