3.9/5 based on 35+ reviews on the web
Witness the harrowing past of the island exhibited in Con Dao Musuem. Opened in 2013, the museum makes a brief introduction on the history of the place before it focuses on the crimes against the humanity conducted in the prison over the captives who were comprised of political dissidents, communists, and other citizens that the local government wanted to eliminate from the eyes of the public. See the methods of torture and the hard labor captured on photographs. Learn about the cages in which the people were held like animals, and read the reports written by those who were incarcerated and survived. Not for the faint of heart. Plan your visit to Con Dao Musuem and a wealth of other attractions, well-known and undiscovered, using our Con Son itinerary builder.

  • Very interesting. A real visual document to learn about this wonderful country and his history. Can't be missed!
  • Must visit on this beautiful island. A visit filled with emotion and sadness emerges.

  • A must see is the prison on the island which has realistic wax figures in the cells. The home room also gives an overview of the history of the past - very heavy stuff
