Christ of Vung Tau, Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province

(4.1/5 based on 100+ reviews on the web)
Admire the architectural determination of religion at Christ of Vung Tau. Completed in 1993 by the Vietnam Catholic Association, the object rises to be 32 m (105 ft) with a 4 m (13 ft) platform, making it an astonishing 36 m (118 ft) tall statue. See the outstretches welcoming arms that go 18.3 m (60 ft) from fingertip to fingertip and admire the skill it took to build it. Climb to the top to enjoy the scenic view of the city as you enjoy the fresh breeze at the top. Modest clothing is recommended since the place is a holy for many people. • A challenge to climb the mountain to get to Jesus statue that stretches out his arms. Like Rio. 911 steps up o the same number down. Do you want to go up into the statue requires a further 110 steps in a narrow staircase. On the way up are various figures o groups showing the parts of the Bible. Take with water o real shoes!

  • Visited this site in Sept 2014. Climbed the steps up & down (486) at age 65 and 105kgs. So if I can do it, so can you. It was an absolutely brilliant view from every rest stop, so make sure you take y...  more »
  • Worth the climb up all 809 steps. Beware last entry to the statue (another 100 steps) is @ 15.45. I arrived at the entry @ 15.00 and was last up the statue. That said, it is a majestic experience, ver...  more »
