Isla Larga, Puerto Cabello

4.4
#1 of 6 in Things to do in Puerto Cabello
The unique geology of Isla Larga attracts many visitors every year. This island off the coast of Carabobo forms part of the surrounding national park, and falls under special administration. The south side boasts white sandy beaches, coral reefs, and mangroves, while the north differs greatly with its rough waves and rocky volcanic surface. The island is also notorious for its shipwrecks, including a German freighter named Sesostris, which sunk in 1940, and an Italian cattle boat that still shows evidence of the wooden cattle stalls. Both popular diving locations, the wrecks have amalgamated with the reefs to form an artificial harbor and foster underwater life. For travelers who use our online itinerary creator, Puerto Cabello holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Isla Larga and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • The island's Caribbean Beach on all sides. Is there anything else I can do to be a great ride. The bad news is the warmth of the place.

  • It is an island located in the coastal city of Puerto Cabello, you can reach it from different points, the most popular is Quizandal Beach, where there is parking and Jetty where for an affordable price take you to it, also there are boats leaving from Beach Gañango, there are some nearby parking lots and embarks on the edge of the beach, also sometimes you can take the boat from the fishing pier or from the marina in private boats where you want a single trip for you and your family only that in this case the cost will increase considerably. There are those who offer boat trip staying with you on the beach, services for diving, snorkeling, fishing, cooking, among others, that can be hired. When you reach the island, you will notice that as its name implies it is long, with shore with abundant vegetation, white sand and crystal clear waters, there are areas for snorkeling, including a sunken ship that maintains one of the best reserves for diving. There are multiple awnings and huts that can be rented and restaurant service, as well as vendors although not in abundance. They are often grouped toward one of their extreme yachts and other vessels that may remain anchored. It is ultimately a natural wonder.

  • the beach is an excellent beach but on weekends the number of people of low culture and manners make it a nasty site, place or beach where arrive the boats that are like the sea bus, it turns into a disgusting site, people defecate in the area the mangrove swamp and the smell of excrement you can reach the shore, the beach gets FULL of mosquitos (mosquito) up to 10 am about because there is a zone of stagnant water on the island by the rain and the amount of plague is very large , recommendations, not fence with tarpaulins or tents, there and not going to get where mount them, don't expect good service of the inhabitants is bad, don't expect nice people go low cultural level and poor manners, people move away from the area most agglomerated, choose the extrem or toward the wreck, if you have snorkeling, stay in the water because while more away from people is best, not locate onto the area where to dock the boats because it is a scandal of Bugles, a competition where everybody wants to make more noise than the other. Good points, very nice where the wreck, fish that are seen are very nice, have point of sale in the only restaurant on the island. It would not go on weekend.
