Isla Larga, Puerto Cabello

4.3
#1 of 6 in Things to do in Puerto Cabello
The unique geology of Isla Larga attracts many visitors every year. This island off the coast of Carabobo forms part of the surrounding national park, and falls under special administration. The south side boasts white sandy beaches, coral reefs, and mangroves, while the north differs greatly with its rough waves and rocky volcanic surface. The island is also notorious for its shipwrecks, including a German freighter named Sesostris, which sunk in 1940, and an Italian cattle boat that still shows evidence of the wooden cattle stalls. Both popular diving locations, the wrecks have amalgamated with the reefs to form an artificial harbor and foster underwater life. For travelers who use our online itinerary creator, Puerto Cabello holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Isla Larga and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • the beach is an excellent beach but on weekends the number of people of low culture and manners make it a nasty site, place or beach where arrive the boats that are like the sea bus, it turns into a disgusting site, people defecate in the area the mangrove swamp and the smell of excrement you can reach the shore, the beach gets FULL of mosquitos (mosquito) up to 10 am about because there is a zone of stagnant water on the island by the rain and the amount of plague is very large , recommendations, not fence with tarpaulins or tents, there and not going to get where mount them, don't expect good service of the inhabitants is bad, don't expect nice people go low cultural level and poor manners, people move away from the area most agglomerated, choose the extrem or toward the wreck, if you have snorkeling, stay in the water because while more away from people is best, not locate onto the area where to dock the boats because it is a scandal of Bugles, a competition where everybody wants to make more noise than the other. Good points, very nice where the wreck, fish that are seen are very nice, have point of sale in the only restaurant on the island. It would not go on weekend.

  • The island is beautiful, white sand, crystal clear water and minimal wave. They keep it perfectly clean and the boats depart from Quizandal and seek you back until 4 pm. It is a good choice, but it is recommended that you take everything because there is not much to buy, except a lot of canned coconut. Do not sell alcohol for being a national park. If you want to have lunch there prices are normal, nothing expensive, but we had to wait an hour for lunch, pursue the point of sale by the beach, etc. It is a paradise for a great day, snorkel or dive the wreck. 100% recommended.

  • It is opposite the beach of "Quizandal" and it is good to rely on a GPS to arrive because it is not easy, and the route is in regular conditions in addition that the signage is very poor. Arriving at "Quizandal" you can stop the truck with closed access and reasonable rates. There are restaurants and ice service. It transmits some security. The boats were taken up type boat covered who - as - they leave every 15 minutes. It troubles me that young boys are the crew. As it is common in Venezuela, many people assembled and vessels transmit obsolescence and neglect. They will be about 10-15 minutes maximum travel, the sea was calm. Upon arrival, access to a beautiful beach, great for children because it is very serene and not too deep. Colour green, with lot of fauna (fish, gulls) in general, this clean. Very beautiful sand. I highly recommend bring sunscreen, towels and caps because the single is boiling and awnings that lease (few) are as always already devoured and damaged and protect little. There is little space between the vegetation, the awning and the beach. Take this into account.

  • Good care and service, a little uncomfortable to locate the room makes it difficult when you take too much luggage as it was my case and it was in the B wing of the hotel. room for 7 people very practical and clean with kitchen, refrigerator and basic utensils. the pool is cozy. good location to shopping malls, service station and areas of interest of the city

  • It is worthwhile to pay for the next room, the difference is abysmal and the right price. Good service at the reception. No wifi in the rooms only in the lobby

  • Very good relation price vs. the service received. This located opposite the passenger terminal which makes it very comfortable walk. With swimming pool, very nice exceeded my expectations, even has a kids; weekend sold food and haymusica in this area. Rented room was Executive six times, had two main rooms each with a double bed, individual and bathroom, TV, central air conditioning also but to a temperaturaperfecta, and a big fridge. The price I thought it was consistent. They have wifi in the reception which works very well.
