A beautiful piece of ancient architecture. To arrive, it is very easy to activate the GPS you have, the hike is very steep for people of the 3rd age is a bit difficult, does not have ramps for wheelchairs could only reach the halfway point, the view is beautiful. Unlocked viewpoints there are you should not pay to see through them, as well as the entrance to the Fort is free. I went in low season and not offered us a tour guide but there are short reviews on the walls, children or be unsupervised since there are no railings zones and they can fall. It has a display of clothes of the time and bullets are cannon used in the Fort. For lovers of history, architecture, landscapes and photography is excellent. Ah also has a very nice restaurant.

El Fortín Solano monument historic national park St. Stephen the independence of #Venezuela history in the San Esteban National Park treasures #Fortín Solano, located in the municipality Puerto Cabello in the State of Carabobo, the last colonial fortification built in Venezuela, designed as a national historic monument since on October 29, 1965, according to official Gazette N ° 27.876. Solano fortress, also known as Mirador de Solano, was built in 1766 by orders of the Captain General of the province, José Solano y Bote, who directed the construction of the Fort in the so-called peak of el Vigia, because the visibility of the four cardinal points was perfect to monitor and protect the cities of Puerto Cabello and Valencia from naval attacks. The emblematic fortification was built with slave labor and prisoners brought from La Guaira and the Castle San Felipe, and with local materials in the area, like quarry stones and rocks of the San Esteban River and some hills of the around. This military fortress not only served as a prison to hold heads of realistic troops, but it also keeps the history of important clashes that occurred in the year 1813 as part of the Admirable Campaign, as well as the military, known as the Porteñazo rebellion, that originated in the early morning of June 2, 1962, against the Government of Rómulo Betancourt. #ConoceVenezuela #Historia #PuertoCabello #FortinSolano #Valencia #fortaleza #Venezuela #Patrimonio
