Where to stay in Merida

An established tourist destination for adventurers and extreme sports enthusiasts, Merida offers ample accommodations for its guests. The town flanks Highway 7, and accommodations spread across the neighborhoods--although the main bulk of options cluster in the eastern end of town. Choose from small, family-run posadas (guesthouses) set in old colonial-era houses, or larger purpose-built hotels. Head up the surrounding hills for outdoor adventure resorts offering a range of activities and tour booking services, as well as rooms overlooking the undulating scenery.

  • Merida is a small town and its aquarium is also small. However, you will find fish in this country. This isn't a must visit, but it's not either of the lost agent because he's very cute. (last visited by may 2016)

  • Travel is approximately 25 min, has free parking, good price tickets and easy location, the unfortunate thing is that it has little variety of fish on display and looks a little careless, for children is a good place of stop, my 2 year old son loved it the piranhas, turtles ear fishes them red, lion and the koi in the pond.

  • Definitely, this place is a total abandonment. Noteworthy is that the place is fully maintained by the State, so this should take to maintain the place in optimal conditions for the enjoyment of all visitors. Travel will not take you more than 30 minutes, since in addition to being a relatively small place, there is no abundance of species that see, however there is one other interesting fish to observe, however not worth visiting this place. If you come in family plan and want to bring their children here, perhaps, anyway not I recommend it, regardless of the ages. Note: The price of the ticket is expensive for what you see (600 bolivars each entry)

  • This place could be better care. It has many aquatic species, the cage for 3 macaws that outside is not suitable for them. It is trapped or dams. I didn't. In 2009 I went and they were not. I don't understand why there is a Baba, morrocoyes and macaws in an aquarium. It is a zoo or an aquarium.

  • Interesting place of teaching of our different kinds of fish in our country. Very didactic.

  • Place of tourist interest. Display of fish and other animals.

  • Very careless. This Aquarium was in the past. It is very disappointing to return to visit especially for which went in good times for Venezuela before it was yet the destructible revolution. Empty displays, old fishbowls, stained, very little usable travel.

  • Diversity of marine spices and fresh water are known in their journey, as well as learn a lot about biodiversity
