(3.9/5 based on 170+ reviews on the web)
The restored remains of Castillo San Carlos de Borromeo, a colonial-era fortress, now house an eclectic art/history museum. Built in the 17th century to protect Spanish colonists from Dutch pirates, the fort was ransacked several times throughout history. Restored in the 1960s, the fortress now features several exhibit areas, housing paintings depicting the War of Independence, antique weapons, and the replica of Santa Maria, one of the boats belonging to Christopher Columbus. • It is good place to visit, it is nice and quiet, there are some souvenirs outside vendors who sell their goods expensive, must be careful because it is a site that must be very lonely and dangerous after certain hours.

  • Es muy bonito
  • The castle of San Carlos Borromeo on the island of Margarita, is a site of historical interest that you must not miss, the entrance to this ancient fortress is free and its accessibility by car is easy, a view that overlooks the beautiful Bay of Pampatar, with its long beach crowded can be seen from its top. Pampatar is the new culinary Emporium on the island, with numerous restaurants, with a range of options ranging from modest jobs of wood and thatched Beach to the most exquisite venues with high cuisine a la carte. Although I am sincere, nothing like a tasty fried fish with salad, tostones and arepitas to seashore. On leaving the castle can give a collaboration in money more it is not compulsory, do not forget to sign the guestbook!

  • Located just in front of the beach Pampatar, easy access. It is the Fort of larger size on the island of Margarita, with large black holes. It has a full view of the coast. Unmissable place
