Playa Medina, Cumana

4.6
#1 of 7 in Things to do in Cumana
Step onto the tropical beach paradise of Playa Medina, an area with golden sandy beaches, crystal clear azure waters, and a lush forest of coconut trees nearby. Relatively untouched, this beach boasts a palette of deep greens, pinks, and blues. The coconut trees offer abundant shade, so all you need to bring is a book and a towel. Pick up some souvenirs from the many locals selling handicrafts, and stop by one of the restaurants serving fresh seafood. A visit to Playa Medina represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Cumana trip planning site to plot your vacation.

  • It is one of the nicest beach places we have ever visited. It is located a couple of hours drive east of Cumaná (the oldest city in the continent). Quite and relaxing. Just the sound of the caribian w...  more »

  • It seems a hidden beach. To get, you have to travel a long way since he left after Rio Caribbean, Sucre State, but when you finally get... Wow! you say: "It was worth the effort", it is like arriving at a paradise hidden. The first impression are coconut palms, white sand and the sea between blue and green Crystal with a tranquillity that love and gives peace to the swell of the sea is quiet, to go with children is a good choice. If you go by car, you have parking, which is payment because from there the experience is unique since parking is covered with an extensive green grass, then pass it you get to (kiosks) food stalls, there is El and varied, you can eat whatever you want fresh and inexpensive, that if they must carry cash. Locals offer clams and mussels fresh straight out of the sea at very low costs. We note that it is a community of small businesses that are very well organized with the purpose of keeping the beach ideal for tourism, they charge for parking is very well spent. It is a safe beach. Forbidden music in cars or players at levels high. We were in the low season so we could enjoy it much better. The Beach boasts of awnings and chairs which also have cost, but very low. And it even has a posada very beautiful at the end of the beach, we had originally planned to stay there at the end we decided no, however we visited it for facilities, but if you're not a guest, you are a little strange, we assume that it is by security as it is in middle of the beach away from everything. One of the most beautiful beaches we have seen in our country, we usually do not usually repeat sites, but to this we would.
