Los Medanos de Coro, Coro
(4.7/5 based on 80+ reviews on the web)
One of South America's more idiosyncratic national parks, the sandy dunes of Los Medanos de Coro seem a world away from the bustle of the city center. The plant life here consists of little more than small thorny shrubs dotted around the landscape. What you do have at this coastal desert habitat are rolling sand hills reminiscent of a Middle Eastern desert--a result of the little to no rainfall this area receives. Keep an eye out for lizards, foxes, and rabbits scurrying around in their natural habitat. Make Los Medanos de Coro part of your personalized Coro itinerary using our Coro tourist route planner.

  • Great place to go with family and friends. On weekdays there are rides in vehicles and hike routes organised by the athletes that make life on the promenade of the mothers. In addition, on weekends there are rental for sandboarding, with good cost. My recommendation: listen to "Shadow in the dunes" of Rafuche and identify everything he describes landscapes in his song.

  • You have to know him. I recommend early in the morning or at the end of the afternoon. There is an entrance through the square of mothers where they sell food, candy and tourist souvenirs
