Near Caracas, Parque Nacional el Avila is surrounded by a mountain range and the sea. Ideal for relaxing, cycling, hiking, or mountain-climbing, the park has you covered no matter what your favored exercise. Due to the high altitude, you may find yourself out of breath rather quickly, so take it easy and drink plenty of water. Remember--the higher you go, the better the views. • Is excellent climb to the Ávila and take off is from the city a while. Eat some strawberries with cream, timar a hot chocolate if you do ice cream or cold if you go on a sunny day. When I went ice skating track was temporarily disabled but it was temporary.

  • I liked climbing to Sabas Nieves and above where the trail narrows and the vegetation becomes more dense. It is a great way to keep in shape. And go to burn calories! I was from Los Palos Grandes to Altamira yde there until the Waraira Repano. I burnt the equivalent to be traveling about 17 or 18 km.

  • No es un lugar turístico
  • The most important natural park in Caracas city (and Vargas). Many hicking paths, also can be accesed in 4x4 jeeps or using the "teleférico". Higly recommended. It is more enjoyable if you choose non-hollydays to go (less crowded).
  • As a local, this mountain range means a lot to us. Most locals love to climb this mountain any day of the week but mainly on the weekend. If you don't feel don't like making the 3 hour hike to the top (Moderate hiker), you can always take the very enjoyable cable car. Lots of food and great views at the top. I recommend buying the local wine ;)
  • Hiking and View are amazing, you also can camping weather is nice all year just raining can be a inconvenient.
  • Great view of El valle...it's a shame that the Humboldt is not working neither the teleférico
